|Women Leadership and Mentorship|
|Women Leadership and Mentorship Training (WLMT) supported by The Ford Foundation
Through this program, we train and mentor women living with HIV to carry out concrete roles in HIV programming. We deliver technical and educational support to the women as a strategy for stigma reduction and HIV treatment literacy. The training includes participatory learning activities on basic HIV and AIDS facts, science and social issues. Once trained, the women receive seed grants to undertake HIV treatment literacy and stigma reduction activities in their home communities.
This twelve-month HIV Treatment Education was developed in response to a clear unmet need among women living with HIV. The goal of this program is to maintain a centre for mentoring and training women living with HIV to become educators and advocates at national, state, community and institutional levels. Women are better equipped to protect themselves as well as better positioned to impact policy and programmatic changes that affect their health and communities.
